Closed Mobility Scooter Repairs

I have a Roma Corelli mobility scooter which is in good nick generally. It has however developed an intermittent fault. I can ride along, stop to do something e.g. look at something in a shop, and then it won't go any further. If I wait a little while it then sets off again. Any ideas? It is driving me bonkers!! (Perhaps driving is the wrong word!)
