The. non working extractor fan is a Hotpoint above Hob with a chimney. I’ve already had one company’s engineer check it out and they said the following: Our engineer attended, there is a communication fault between the control board (£103.74 plus vat) and the electronic converter (£104.58 plus vat). Unfortunately, with these faults, it's impossible to establish which of the electronics is responsible for the fault so both have to be replaced; to further complicate this, the fault could be attributed to failing windings in the motor. The upshot is that it wouldn't be economical to repair if it means changing both electronics. to then find it also needs a motor. This seems expensive since the original unit was recently being advertised in Southern Ireland for €249 although unfortunately they were out of stock. I’m just looking for a relatively low cost fix so I don’t have to buy new, a different size, another stainless chimney and repaint the kitchen wall. I can send a video of the error codes on the panel if that helps.Read more
