  I work for Panton Mcleod, an inspections and cleaning company in the water industry, based in Selkirk, Scottish Borders. We are looking to change the way we operate and bring in an external PAT Tester for both our site equipment and our office equipment. Our site equipment mainly consists of 110/230v cables, extensions, transformers, work lights etc, and we will require it to be tested every 3 months. Our office equipment consists of standard equipment such as printers, kettles, toasters etc and we will require it to be tested every 3 years. The main issue we have with the site equipment is that it is constantly being used and is most of the time away from our base and out on site in our teams’ vans. We are proposing that we either pencil the external PAT tester to come in on a Saturday, where all the equipment will be in the unit to test it all every 3 months (and if that isn’t possible, then we could instead schedule a “down day” on Friday every 3 months where nobody is out on site).
