My wife and I are planning to extend our 3 bedroom semi-detached house in Tonbridge. This will be a side extension approximately 8 m in length (front to back), and approximately 1.7 m wide (the width of the protrusion). It would be situated behind the existing garage (which will remain), hence would be barely noticeable from the public highway. We have secured planning and building regs sign-off, but have not yet contacted Southern Water. It will be within 2 m of the boundary fence. However, the eaves are likely to be in the order of around 2.3 to 2.5 m above the ground. It is expected that it would have a pitched roof, though the final height of the building will be less than 4 m. The house is not within any designated land that I’m aware of. We’d like to get an idea of the cost of such a proposal, to see whether it’d be a viable option for us.Read more
