    We are buying a property and need a quote for some work doing on the house. Namely: The drainage and guttering around the external walls are described as being “either broken, blocked, or poorly positioned”, which we have been advised is contributing to dampness to the external walls of the property. The rear door frame is described as being “completely rotten and will require replacement as a priority”. For security reasons, we would ask that the vendor address this prior to us moving in. The survey also identified loose wiring within the loft, which has been flagged as a health and safety hazard and fire risk. We would ask for this to be remedied prior to moving in, particularly given its proximity to the insulation. There is also an open chimney pot which requires a ventilated cowl.
