  “A Dance with Life”, Autobiography 1982 by famous ballet dancer John Gilpin. He married Prince Rainier of Monaco’s sister Princess Antoinette in July 1983. And died of heart attack 5 Sept 1983, only 6 weeks after their marriage. They’d known each other for over 30 years. He had to give up dancing before that because of repeated thrombosis in both legs. He was a great friend of the famous Anton Dolin. He partnered Margot Fonteyn, Alicia Markova and many famous ballerinas, and was the main dancer of Festival Ballet, founded 1950 by Dolin and Markova. He was a friend of William Tallon, Personal Page to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who he knew well.Read more
