My mother is 91 years old and has significant hearing problems in both ears. She previously had a pair of Siemens hearing aids of the small in-ear type. One of the pair eventually failed and I persuaded her to visit the Doncaster & Bassetlaw audiology department for a thorough test and to see how she could get on with NHS hearing aids given the significantly newer design and the fact that given her age Mrs Daniels did not feel an expensive pair of privately funded hearing aid would be very good value for her. She has not got on well with her NGS Prescription primarily due to wearing discomfort exacerbated by the silicon in-ear seal which has caused a very sore reaction despite building up to full daily use slowly. Mrs Daniels wants an economic but comfortable solution to her problem which will allow her to benefit from more recent digital hearing aid advances and her latest prescription without the significant discomfort she has experienced from her NHS type.Read more
