Description Northbank Hotel, Seaview
The history of the hotel Northbank Hotel was built in 1840 and used as a seaside retreat by the present owners' great grandmother. The War Department requisitioned the building for the Wrens during the Second World War. It was converted to a hotel after the war. The family The Shaw-Yates family have owned Northbank since 1959 and it is now run by Michael and Mary with their two sons, William and Mark. The Wrens The photograph of the Wrens at the Northbank shows, even in the dark days of war, the girls managed to smile.
The hotel has eighteen guest rooms, all with really comfy beds and tea making facilities and most have sea views. Only the best food is served, using local produce and home cooked on our Aga. Our daily changing menu is complemented by a connoisseur's wine list An excellent friendly hotel for families, children are most welcome and can enjoy safe sea bathing, rock pools and the beach.With comfortable lounge and bar, we make a great base for sailing, fishing or painting groups. Most of all, we are proud to welcome back our guests year after year.
