Description North Wiltshire District Council, Chippenham
The Wilts and Berks Canal Partnership was formed in 2001 to oversee and direct the restoration of the waterway. Our vision: By 2025, to have a completely restored and navigable waterway for the benefit of local communities and to support a rich diversity of wildlife. A route for narrow boats, canoes etc. The route of mainline of the canal starts at the junction with the Kennet and Avon Canal between Devizes and Trowbridge and goes through to Abingdon on the River Thames Navigation.
To create an environment both we and our children can be proud of To inspire and excite To put our canal at the heart of everyday life
Probably the longest canal restoration in the UK! Please support the communities in Oxfordshire Swindon & Wiltshire, who already appreciate what has been achieved so far, & of course the wildlife would say thanks too for the improved habitat!
