The Centre opened in January 2000 and occupies the former Chapel End Infant School Premises. It is run in conjunction with the school, which has relocated about 300 metres away on a separate site. The Early Years Centre incorporates the nursery class of the school and the extended day to combine care and education. Twenty-eight full time equivalents (FTE) for nursery education and 32 full-time year round places are offered for 3-5 year olds. Twelve places are designated for children identified as in need and referred by Social Services. The Centre gained Early Excellence Status in July 2002. Our staff comprises a Head of Centre, who is also the Head of the School, a Senior Teacher, a SENCO and a Nursery Teacher, a Centre Manager and 8 Family Workers.
