Parkfield School provides an excellent range of activities for learners both during the school day and as extra – curricular activities.There is a weekly dance club before school.We run "Arts Weeks" where various artists visit each class in the school. There are football, rugby, cross country, netball and rounders clubs.Many of our Junior children are given (and take up the opportunity) to play a wide range of musical instruments including guitar, clarinet, percussion and trumpet. All classes enjoy at least three visits a year out of school. We also provide four residential visits for our Junior children. Our Year 3 children visit Bath for one night, our Year 4 children go to London for a weekend, our Year 5 children visit Wales for a week and our Year 6 children visit Paris for a week.

Princecroft School has about 100 pupils and is situated on the West side of the old market town. It’s positioned on the Westleigh Housing Estate, off Pound Street. At Princecroft we provide for children of all abilities. The curriculum is broad, balanced, realistic, relevant and differentiated to meet the learning needs of the individual child. Children are actively involved in target setting. Children with SEN are identified early, and appropriate strategies put in place. Outside agencies are involved as necessary to enable greater effectiveness. By giving these children extra support and full inclusion they achieve above average progress and achieve targets . For those that are identified as gifted and talented there is differentiated learning to provide additional challenge.

This large primary school with Nursery provides various extended services to support families and the local community. Many families in the area experience considerable social and economic disadvantage. Free school meal eligibility is high as is pupil turnover, and there are several refugees or asylum seekers. Nearly all pupils are from minority ethnic backgrounds and over one-third is at an early stage of learning English. The proportion of the pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities is higher than in most other primary schools. The new headteacher has been in post since the start of this term.
There is an excelelnt range of activties available to all students: we have ArtsMark Gold and Sportsmark. There are trips and residentials both in the UK and abroad; students lead groups such as Human Rights or Fairtrade. Participation is excellent and individuals achieve highly representing their county and country, going to National Youth Theatre and Dance City's advanced academy. Students work with professinoals and lead activities for younger childre. The Youth Work Department offers a wide and excellent variety of activities on and off site including weekends and holidays. Some of these include middle school age children and clearly help with transition.

The RSL holds the Legal Deposit material in the sciences for Oxford University. This means that it is entitled to receive a copy of all British scientific publications. In addition, the RSL subscribes to many journals published overseas, most of which are in English. Scientific doctoral theses submitted for degrees at Oxford are deposited in the Library. There is a strong historical science collection, especially from the 19th century. There are approx. 1 million items held by the RSL, however, only about one quarter of the Library's books and journals are displayed in the Reading Rooms, the rest are housed in remote storage and most journals are available electronically. There are reading rooms on all levels of the library. Level 2 is underground and houses the book collection, levels 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 house the print journal collection. Level 4 is the ground floor entrance and the main enquiry point.

Redhill Primary School is a Foundation primary school situated in its own grounds on The Ridings. There are two playgrounds, an excellent playing field and pleasant grounds that include an adventure trail, adventure climbing frame, organic garden, nature area and pond, used by the children as part of their science lessons. We like to involve the children in looking for ways to improve our school environment. The building, first opened in 1969 has seven large classrooms, a new Jubilee library (built October 2002) an I.T. suite in addition to a modern administration block. Junior and infant blocks adjoin a hall that is used as a dining room, for assemblies, as a concert auditorium and for Physical Education lessons. The school is also fortunate to have a modern kiln in the junior activity area. The main entrances for children are at the side of the junior block and from the rear of the Year 2 classroom while at the front of the school is the Visitors Entrance.
Office hours are 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:0o to 15:15 Monday to Friday. The school is housed in a building opened in 2003. We share the school campus with our local secondary school, Coleridge Community College. We have designed the building to be attractive, safe and comfortable for all school users. The public areas are bright and airy. The classrooms are well equipped with computers, interactive whiteboards and suitably sized furniture. We have a large library, hall and a playground that is interesting and varied.

Our aim at Royles Brook Primary School is to allow all of our children to attain high standards of individual achievement in a happy, friendly and secure environment. The Siddal Moor Building Schools for the Future (BSF) re-building and refurbishment project is now almost halfway through. Two technology rooms have been entirely refurbished and the new three-storey block at the front of the school, the drama studio attached to the Hall and the new Food room are well on their way to completion.There has been little or no disruption to learning, with the school achieving its best ever results this year. By April next year, we will have moved into our stunning new teaching and administration building, and by November, the work should be complete. We certainly will have a ‘school for the future’.
