The Learning Mentors work with children that are struggling to achieve their full academic potential. They take the children out of class on a one to one basis and target the areas the child is struggling with using many different resources and techniques.

Prospective parents and children are warmly invited to visit the school, Open Days and Evenings are held early in October, when programmes are arranged so that the school may be seen in action. Staff and students are available in the evening to guide visitors and discuss, in detail, aspects of the school. The Headteacher welcomes visitors in the Main Hall at key points during the evening.

Nicol Mere is a medium sized primary school that was extended in 2003 and has subsequently undergone a series of further improvements. This extension has provided us with substantial space including two large halls and a purpose built ICT suite. North Cockerington Church of England Primary School is a friendly and popular rural school, serving the village of North Cockerington and surrounding villages near Louth. Caring, respect and Christian values are important features of our school, creating a happy and successful learning environment. Our school is a much smaller than an average sized school and caters for pupils from 4 to 11 years. Currently, there are 85 pupils in our school, and are taught in three Classes; Class 1: Reception and Year 1, Class 2: Years 2 and 3, including half of Year 4, and Class 3: Years 5 and 6 together with the other half of year 4. The National Curriculum is divided into ‘Key Stages’, which are related to the ages of the pupils. Key Stage 1 means pupils in Years 1 and 2 (infants). Northfield Manor Primary School was opened in 1962 on part of the Bournville Estate, just behind the Manor House of Manor Park. It is the only school in Weoley Hill. The Old School Henstead is a co-educational preparatory school and nursery, catering for pupils between the ages of 2 and a half and 11. Situated on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, it is within easy reach of Lowestoft, Beccles and Halesworth, and has strong links with the leading independent senior schools in the area.
