The main aim of this policy is to promote a customer service culture. It aims to ensure a consistent approach to customer service regardless of the method of contact. It sets the standards expected of employees regarding their personal responsibility, behaviours and attitudes in delivering excellent customer service. Merseyside Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing Merseyside in North West England. The force area is 647 square kilometres with a population of around 1.5 million. As of March 2009 the force has 4, 494 police officers, 2, 221 staff, 442 police community support officers and 420 special constables. Merseyside Police is divided into six Basic Command Units (BCUs), one in each of the metropolitan boroughs that make up Merseyside, and two BCUs for the City of Liverpool.

The Armagh City Neighbourhood Unit comprises of 5 full time officers, and four Part Time Constables. We are responsible for 7 “beat” areas within the Armagh area. The 7 beat areas are similar to council wards and are divided into the two distinctive neighbourhoods, Armagh City North and Armagh City South, as shown below:
