Originally established in 1863, the Plymouth office has been through many mergers and takeovers over the years and joined Brewin Dolphin in 2007. The Plymouth team of highly qualified investment managers has worked together for a long time and between them have over 200 years of experience in investment management and stockbroking. A private client team relocated from Edinburgh shortly thereafter and this team was almost immediately reinforced by the acquisition from James Finlay of a Discretionary Fund Management and Financial Services business. Since then, several teams have joined from other brokers, increasing the number of Directors to ten. The Corporate Advisory & Broking division has one of its six locations in Glasgow. Working closely with the investment management division and drawing on the knowledge of our multi-disciplined team of 60 professionals, we have been delivering successful growth solutions to clients for over 30 years.
Rory first picked up a guitar in 1986, it was a 'Marlin Sidewinder' electric guitar (a gift from his brother) and from that day he was hooked. Before long Rory was learning to play guitar riffs from legendary artists past and present. But it was the bass elements of music that came naturally to his ear. He was developing a real love for music and the key role that bass played. From a young age, Rory could hear the drum pulse in music so clearly and now he just wanted to lock that in with this new, exciting bass sound.

We strive to improve the way we do things across areas including: energy and emissions, transport, waste, packaging, encouraging customer responsibility, product sourcing and suppliers. Each year in the UK, people throw away over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical and electronic waste. That's the equivalent of 150 thousand double-decker buses. Electrical products are often full of nasty chemicals and can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health. It is very important that these products are either recycled or otherwise disposed of safely. All new electrical products now carry a symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin. This means it should be disposed of carefully, and not thrown out with general household waste. At WHSmith, we are helping to upgrade local Civic Amenity sites across the UK where you can take your old electrical items for a safe, free-of-charge disposal. We cannot dispose of your old products in-store.
