  • BUTTERCUPS CLINIC
BERKSHIRE, RG10 0DS READING, BROADWATER LANE
    Rating 55 stars based on 3 review(s)

Osteopathy can be extremely effective for treating the following problems : Back Pain: The rapid relief of backache has established a solid reputation for osteopathy over the last century. Osteopaths are skilled at treating muscular and mechanical forms of back pain caused by falls, lifting, sporting activity and gardening to mention a few examples. Sciatica: is pain in the buttock that spreads down the thigh towards the knee and sometimes into the foot. Mild cases usually improve rapidly with ostopathic treatment. Severe cases caused by a large prolapsed or 'slipped' disc may require other forms of treatment to produce relief. Neck Pain and stiffness sometimes described as 'trapped nerves' in the neck, often responds well to treatment. Whiplash injury to the neck may be from a road traffic accident. Provided there are no major injuries, then gentle osteopathic treatment can be beneficial.

    LINCOLNSHIRE, PE9 2UQ STAMFORD, 112, CASTERTON ROAD

Osteopathy is a curative treatment that aims to correct supposed deformation of the skeleton, seen as the cause of many "dis-eases". Andrew Taylor -Still, the founder of Osteopathy, put it more simply when he said "structure governs function". It is believed that given the right circumstances the body has the power to heal itself. The Osteopath seeks to assist the body in doing just that. Osteopaths work with their hands both to diagnose conditions and to treat them. Osteopaths use palpation, feeling the tissues under their fingers, and by comparing the temperature, tone and response to movement to what they know to be normal, decide how to treat the patient. Diagnosis involves taking a full case history, undertaking a thorough physical examination and if necessary some medical investigation such as blood tests, X-rays etc.
