The surgery is named after Dr Daniel Stenhouse, who was the first doctor in our practice. Dr Stenhouse was born in Auchterarder, Scotland, in 1848 and graduated from Edinburgh University in 1876. He married Mary Worrall of Arnold and was a Medical Missionary in Chu Chia Province in China until 1886, working for the New Connection Methodist Church. In 1886 he became a general practitioner in Arnold and practised from Ebenezer House, which was the old farmhouse at the bottom of Worrall Avenue, until 1897. He then moved to live and practise from Arnold House, Church Street until his death in 1916. Opening hours Monday to Friday 7:00am – 6:30pm Pre-booked appointments only from 7.00am to 8.00am. Established in Nottingham in 1979 the practice aims to provide a high standard of osteopathic care to patients of all ages. Rise Park Surgery serves the whole of Rise Park as well as areas of Top Valley and Bestwood Village. Our team includes five GPs, three nurses, one health care assistant, two phlebotomists as well as our practice manager, admin and reception staff.
Nursing Services We have three practice nurses, one treatment room nurse, two health visitors, one community midwife, district nurses, and a community matron. Our Practice Nurses are available by appointment for: blood pressure checks; new patient checks; minor illness clinics; travel advice; both child and adult immunisation; contraception advice; well woman including smear tests; well man checks; asthma checks and over 75 visiting.
Our Practice was founded in 1953 and has a long tradition of very close ties with people in Mapperley. We moved to our new premises in 1988. Over the years we have steadily expanded in order to continue to provide friendly and up to date medical care for the people in our area.
