Our children have a wide choice of activities available to them. We have groups that meet either before or after school, as well as some lunchtime clubs. We have guitar, drum and choir, and n the sporting side we have clubs for netball, football (girls and boys), basketball and table tennis and multi-sports. After school drama clubs attract many children. We have clubs for younger and older groups. Plays and musicals are rehearsed and presented to parents at the end of the Christmas and Summer terms. The garden project now attracts a group of children who regularly dig and harvest crops for our school lunches.

Primary and Nursery School with a Special Needs Centre for Deaf Children in Nottingham, UK
The EIP has funded a great many enrichment activites to support the curriculum over the past 3 years. Numerous after school and lunchtime clubs are run including: Signing club, Games club, Cooking club, Urdu Club, Football, Cricketr, Badminton, Eco and Gardening, Art and Mandarin. We have teams which represent the school in Football (girls and boys) and Cricket (girls and boys). During Ramadan we have a special lunchtime club for those children who are fasting. At lunchtimes and playtimes children have access to equipment. We are a collection point for the Credit Union Bank and older children help to run it. We take part in activities offered by the Creative Partnership. Year 6 children are involved in the city Children's Parliament each year. We have an annual school performance where children from Y1 - Y6 can audition for parts. Residential trips for Y3/4 and 5/6
Our school provides a varied and challenging curriculum enriched with many opportunities. These include: . a solid grounding in reading, writing and mathematics; . excellent development of ICT skills; . extended PE provision with specialist coaching in cricket, football, badminton, dance and rowing; . specialist music tuition and school choir; . an exciting programme of visits/visitors; . after school clubs including spanish, sports, music, drama, art, cookery, reading and homework clubs; . community projects such as 'Hands Across St Ann's'. Broadly speaking the classes are divided into age groups. There are two classes for 5 year olds, two classes for 5/6 year old children, one class for 6/7 year olds, two for 7/8 year olds, two for 8/9 year olds, two for 9/10 year olds, and two for 10/11 year olds. These classes all have boys and girls and have mixed ability. At different times of the day classes may be organised so that they may be working as a whole, in groups, or individually, according to the needs of the children. Each child is encouraged to work according to his/her own ability. Every child takes part in daily literacy and numeracy lessons.
Pupils have access to a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including: a recorder club; art and craft club; library club; coaching courses and fixtures for football, netball, basketball, cricket, tag rugby: indoor and outdoor athletics; children also have opportunities for tennis coaching, dance sessions, keep fit, yoga & aerobics; children in Y4, Y5 and Y6 have instrumental tuition, homework club for Y3 and Y4 children runs on Tuesday and breakfast club runs every day from 8.00am. A lunch club operates for children in the nursery. Children from Y1 to Y6 have the opportunity to go to the theatre or pantomime. All Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in a residential activity holiday that is heavily subsidised from school funds. All children have the opportunity to learn Spanish.

West Bridgford Infant School aims to encourage all children to develop to the best of their abilities, to feel positive about themselves and be caring towards one another. The school was built in 1902 and officially opened on May 1st by Lord Belper. The first children started on August 25th of that year. Originally, it was 2 separate schools with 2 Headteachers. The juniors were upstairs and the infants were on the ground floor. The current building was situated between the original Musters Road Board School (where the Health Centre now stands) and the railway line (now housing on Avon Gardens).
Wheldon is an 11-19 school, serving the area of Carlton, a pleasant, settled district to the north east of Nottingham. The school has now been rebuilt following a devastating fire in December 2002. The new complex is an exciting learning environment offering a suitable venue for the high quality education provided by Wheldon’s dedicated staff.
