It is a joint service of the County and District Councils of Norfolk. In 2005, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) granted Designation status to the Record Office's entire collection. The National Archives has judged the Norfolk Record Office to be a four-star archive service. The Archive Centre, opened on 3 November 2003, is the home of the Norfolk Record Office and the East Anglian Film Archive. It has excellent facilities for research, education, exhibitions and the conservation and preservation of manuscripts, audio recordings and moving images.
