Since its creation in 1927 Beatrix Potter School has continued to provide high standards of education in the community. The schools’ name was derived from the author’s visits to her former Governess who lived by our local common in Baskerville Road and to whom she wrote, using her characters to illustrate her letters. Beatrix Potter also drew inspiration from the varied wildlife she saw on her visits to Wandsworth Common. The school was founded in 1927 although there was on the site a school before this, this tin (it was located in a corrugated hut) school is recorded (1901), we have recently obtained a picture from a former pupil of 1916 of this tin school. We were re-modelled in 1933 and 1993, its only interruption to its role in providing education for the local community was in 1939 when the school was evacuated to Shamley Green, Guildford until 1943 as a result of the 1939-1945 war.

The staff work together to build a centre of excellence in which we aim to achieve high academic standards whilst ensuring that the special needs of all pupils are met. Firstly being taught by my Grandparents at Frome Dance Centre and then going on to attend, Pattisons School of Performing Arts in Coventry where I completed a three year Musical Theatre Course, attaining 5 teaching Associates in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Musical Theatre and National, My Qualifications are with the International Dance Teachers Association and The Imperial Society Teachers Of Dance.
