We believe every individual matters and we work with all stakeholders to make sure that every child achieves their full potential. Our school mission is simple. We ensure all children ‘Aspire!’ - aspire to be the best in what ever they choose to do. We have a highly skilled and dedicated team of people who work at Ash Grove. They provide a stimulating and enriching learning environment for children to learn and grow. At Ash Grove we provide a very rich and exciting curriculum that is tailored to the needs and interests of all children. In addition we run after school clubs every night of the week. The school opens at 7.45am with the breakfast club and closes at 6.00pm with the after school club.

A special school is a school catering to students who have special educational needs due to severe learning difficulties or physical disabilities. Special schools provide individualised education, addressing specific needs. Student teacher ratios are kept low, often 6 to 1 or lower depending upon the needs of the children. Special schools may be specifically designed, staffed and resourced to provide the appropriate special education for children with additional needs.

Whirley Primary School places a high emphasis on developing the whole child. We see their primary education as far more than just the academic subjects (though these are of course, our first priority). All classes have two timetabled lessons of P.E. but in addition we run a wide range of extra curricular sports clubs and even an annual Family Games Night. In recent years we have been very successful, being A and B League Soccer Champions, Netball League and Cup Winners and Mixed Rounders Champions. Children in Years 3 and 6 go on Residential Field trips and every class has at least one visit, connected with an aspect of their learning. We have a wide range of visiting speakers, theatre groups and artists. Each year we hold an 'off-timetable' cross-curricular Arts Week.
