Putteridge Junior School is a happy and successful school, with wonderful children and staff. We have a great deal to celebrate and are very proud of the education and wide range of experiences we provide for our pupils.

Sports day activities encourage the children not only to work together but also to demonstrate their skills practised and perfected during PE lessons. Children also experience visits from theatre and puppet groups, music concerts and educational visits. Children have had the opportunity to attend the Multi-skills, Gym and Science after school clubs. Children have also been given the opportunity to develop their artistic skills at the lunch time art club.
We are very proud of the achievements of all the children at Someries Infant School. We aim to provide a creative and stimulating environment where children can develop the skills and confidence to become independent and successful learners.

The range of activities provided out of school time in the form of clubs changes every year and will depend on the time of the year, the availability of staff and the interests of staff. The range of clubs have included choir, football, calligraphy, cross stitch, cooking, recorder, French, netball, athletics. We try to provide clubs for a range of year groups.We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. In school time Year 6 have visited France, and Year 4 Dell Farm - both residential trips. We have visited an art gallery in London and several museums. Each class has at least one visit a year to enhance their curriculum. We often have visitors who come to school to develop children's learning, for example, theatre groups.We have a successful breakfast club and afterschool club.

There are many activities available to pupils. In addition to the regular curriculum as one would expect, we do offer more than typical amounts of swimming and cross curricular ICT (children swim for two complete years in KS2 and all classes have the option of three lessons a week in one of our two ICT suites). We will offer signposting to an exciting extended wrap around care package, and our own extra curricular activities offered are quite comprehensive and include at various times across the year: Sewing Club Art Club Football Tag Rugby Tennis Cricket Dance Recorder Club (two) Additionally a wide array of peripatetic music provision is offered during lunchtimes, short afternoon slots, and after school. Lots of educational visits take place including opportunities for residential stay in three age groups.
