Litherland High School provide: A wide range of sporting activities, both in class time and beyond the school day. There are extra literacy lessons beyond the school day. We provide two breakfast clubs. International visits to countries across the globe, many of them free or at a subsidised cost. Study support over a wide range of subjects. Fast track sessions for students taking GCSE early Summer and Easter schools, particularly for Spanish Year 6-7 transition classes. All our pupils study Spanish as a core subject, with French also being studied in y8 & y9. French, Italian and German are offerred as options in KS4.

Our school is located in the Walton area of Liverpool. The school provides excellent facilities and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for pupils, staff and visitors alike. Children love coming to school and, as all our visitors comment, the children are so very friendly and well mannered. The school building, first opened in September 2000, provides outstanding facilities for the children. A modern, well equipped hall provides an excellent setting for the children to develop P.E. and Games activities. The I.C.T. suite, complete with 28 of the latest P.C.s, provides an ideal setting for the children to develop their I.T. and research skills. Our magnificent Nursery is the ideal starting point for any child’s education.
The school has a number of special facilities available for pupils including a spa/hydro pool, a light room, a multi-sensory room equipped with an opti-music soundbeam, a soft play area, a sensory garden, a library and ICT suite and an adventure play area. Many of the pupils have the opportunity to access swimming and sports centre activities and there is a regular programme of visiting coaches providing football, judo, dance and other activities. ICT is used extensively to support pupils and there is a range of equipment available including interactive whiteboards, soundbeam, switches and communication aids. Pupils have the opportunity to attend an after school club if they wish. A programme of residentials are also planned on themes e.g. an outdoor pursuits, independent living, sensory exploration.The school owns a caravan and is able to take pupils on residential visits regularly
Pinehurst Primary School has a breakfast club that is open to all its pupils from 8.10 am until the start of the school day. We offer before and after school activities including Football, Science, Writing, Maths, Computers and First Aid. Our curriculum is extended and enhanced by Liverpool Music Support Service, who provide high quality music lessons to all our children. We employ a sports company called Xtra time who provide sports coaches to give the children high quality games and P.E. activities. We also employ a Spanish teacher who teaches all our children Spanish. The children are taken on a number of outings each year to link learning with the real world. Our Year 6 are taken on a residential holiday which offers additional activities beyond what we can offer in school, it also helps build relationships and strengthens children's resilience to new situations.

Children who require support have individual education/behaviour plans based on their needs. These plans are reviewed termly and the children and parents are asked to contribute.
