Age Concern Sefton Bereavement & Loss Counselling Service provides free and confidential support to anyone aged 49 and over who has been bereaved, has suffered a loss or who is the primary carer for a terminally ill person. You may be recently bereaved or still feel upset, angry and resentful months or even years later and unable to think of a future without your loved one or you may be struggling to come to terms with the impending death of a terminally ill loved one. People may feel uncomfortable confronting grief, however close they are, and your family will have their own grief to contend with and may be unable to comfort and support you. Bereavement or loss and long or short-term caring for a loved one can result in isolation and loneliness. However you are feeling if you want to have someone to talk to, in complete confidence, we are here to help you.

The Agency conducts Minibus Drivers Awareness Training (MiDAS) for all groups and volunteer drivers.The training provides the technical, legal and practical knowledge that is required when driving a minibus, as well as being taught how to use the specialist equipment. Sefton Helping Hand Services is a local charity which provides important services for people living within the Borough of Sefton. The aim of our organisation is to proactively tackle disadvantage withing the community on a practical level as demonstrated by the range of our services on offer. Good quality furniture donations are collected from homes in Sefton by Helping Hand and redistributed to residents who are in need within the Borough. This service can be crucial to those who are financially in need. The provision of good quality furniture can improve the quality of life and help reduce stress for families who are living on a limited income. We receive requests for items of furniture from Social Services and other Agencies however individuals may contact us to discuss their needs and eligibility. Redistributing furniture has the added bonus of preventing good usable items from going needlessly to landfill - we are therefore doing something positive for the environment.
