Ansaar is a Leicester-based community project, specifically set up for people with Learning Disabilities. The project was set up in January 2003 after concern was raised regarding the cultural and social difficulties, faced by people with learning disabilities, their carers and families. The word 'Ansaar' comes from the Arabic language which means 'helpers'.
NISE is a client based agency in that it seeks to find the staff that clients need, rather than as many agencies do, seek to find work for the staff on its books. NISE have over sixty years experience in mental health nursing and feel this puts them in a good position to understand the needs of their clients.

Menphys was founded in 1969 to support children and young people with disabilities and their families – our work is just as necessary and important today. Menphys provides a range of services, some of them in partnership with Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Council and Rutland County Council: Menphys supports and enhances the provision at specialist nurseries in Wigston and Burbage. The Menphys Special Outreach Service supports children and young people aged 0 – 19 and their families. The Buddy Scheme offers friendship and activities to children and young people whilst providing a short break for parents/carers.
