We are very much a ‘family’ school: we cultivate and nurture attitudes of support, respect and care in all our activities and relationships and for all our children. Equally important is learning. We set high standards in everything we do and strongly believe in the importance of the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics.
Developing the whole child is of the highest importance. We run a wide range of after school activities including music, sport, drama, gardening and art activities. These are changed each half term to cater for different interests and skills. French is taught throughout the school. Children in Year 6 are given the opportunity to take part in a residential trip to Buckden. Pupils are encouraged to enter competitions throughout the year. All children have the opportunity to take part in concerts and musical productions, and classes present assemblies on a termly rota. Children can put themselves forward as school councillor, Harmony Group member, dinnertime Fitbods, for the Road Safety Team, Litter Patrol and dining room helper. The School Council engages pupils in fundraising events for activities and purchases of their own choice. Our PTA organises Christmas and Summer Fairs, school discos, a Year 6 Prom and other school events throughout the year.
