Bottisham Community Primary School is based in the village of Bottisham, situated to the northeast of Cambridge. Brackensdale Junior School is situated on the Mackworth Estate close to the centre of the city of Derby. It was opened in 1954. The accommodation is spacious and includes a Sports Hall, separate Dining Hall, Library and Computer Room. We have two playgrounds and extensive playing fields. Brackensdale as an Enhanced Resource Community Junior School We have children with communication difficulties in all classes (maximum 4 per class) each class has at least one full time teaching assistant working alongside the teacher. In addition the school Inclusion Manager and a non-class based Special Needs Teacher. There are two new classrooms being built this summer to house our specialist class for severely autistic children. These will be completed in the Autumn Term and will add an extra dimension to our school.
We have been aiming to raise standards in English and Mathematics so that all pupils make very good progress. Those who do not are then identified and helped. Central to this is the need to continually assess where each pupil is in their learning and to communicate next steps clearly. We have been developing a whole-school method of recording progress on a computer programme. We have reviewed and revised our system for school self-review so that leaders can ascertain areas of strength and areas for development as clearly and efficiently as possible. ratton Fleming Community Primary School is located in the beautiful village of Bratton Fleming, on the edge of Exmoor, North Devon. We are eight miles north of Barnstaple, the regional capital. The school, which was modernised in 1993, is set in large grounds with breathtaking views. We have on average one hundred pupils who are taught in four classes. We aim to be a welcoming and friendly school where children, staff, parents and governors work together to provide a happy and stimulating working environment.
Pupils are offered a wide range of activities, in both scheduled lesson time, and in after school clubs. In school there is PE, which covers activities including Dance, Gymnastics, Athletics and Games such as Football and Cricket. This is a 'rolling' programme based around the seasons. In addition, the school has provided swimming at the nearby pool. After school the children are offered multi-skills, football and bowls. Bromley Road Infants is a three form entry infant school, situated in the heart of Beckenham, for children aged rising five to seven. The school was first established in 1818, and is still housed in a well-maintained, original Victorian listed building, but is well-equipped for 21st Century children. There are nine classes (three per year group) plus an ICT suite, library and separate dining and assembly halls (the latter is also used for P.E. and drama etc.). Brooklands is a Surrey County Council community day special school for children with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Children are aged from 2 to 11 years. Choosing a school for your child is always difficult. It is even more so when your child has, or may have, special educational needs. We are aware that this can be an emotional and stressful time for the whole family. We want you to be able to spend as much time as you need when considering Brooklands. Hopefully this Prospectus will give you a picture of us. Do come and visit the school and bring a friend or someone you trust so that you can talk through your impressions afterwards. You are very welcome to come on second or third visits and to bring your child. Broomhill Bank is a coeducational foundation special school, situated within beautiful grounds in West Kent. We cater for students with communication and interaction difficulties (C&I) who have a Statement of special educational need and are likely to benefit from a place in a special school. Students eligible for places will probably have a diagnosis of autism, aspergers or other significant social communication difficulty, such as pervasive developmental disorder, and/or severe receptive or expressive language impairment or disorder. Mytholmroyd is a small village about a mile from Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire and set amongst beautiful picturesque hills. There is an active and innovative business community, and the village is home to the largest comprehensive school in the area, along with some lively pubs and some excellent country walks. Our school lies between the Rochdale Canal and the River Calder in Mytholmroyd. This is the view from our back playground and is why we have the bridge on our school logo. Mytholmroyd is the birthplace of the late poet laureate Ted Hughes who died in 1998, and was the home of David Hartley, or King David - the leader of The Cragg Coiners. An annual Dock Pudding Competition is held at Mytholmroyd Community Centre in April and Mytholmroyd Gala takes place in August and is hosted on our playing field. Royd Regeneration, and Roof over Youth are ongoing projects for the village. It is also planned to turn the "Old Railway Station" into a "Ted Hughes Centre".
Burnt Mill is an inclusive comprehensive school with excellent exam results. Our value added score for 5A-C GCSES, put us in the top 25% of schools nationally last year. Our recent Ofsted inspection recognised that students make good progress when they are with us and recognised that most areas of our school are good, for example, our curriculum. Indeed, we teach everything from Spanish to Mandarin, Media to History, hairdressing to Physics. As a Performing Arts College we have particular strengths in these areas, but with GCSE English results and Maths likely to hit nearly 60% in 2010, we also know that our core subjects are getting stronger all the time.
