Rory first picked up a guitar in 1986, it was a 'Marlin Sidewinder' electric guitar (a gift from his brother) and from that day he was hooked. Before long Rory was learning to play guitar riffs from legendary artists past and present. But it was the bass elements of music that came naturally to his ear. Former Head Prefect at Dover Grammar School for Boys – Jack Williams – recently organised a visit for Year 10 and Year 12 students from the five Dover Secondary schools to Cambridge. The aim of the visit was to introduce students to student life and to encourage the young people to aspire to studying at University when they leave school. Two separate programmes were run, with Year 12 students visiting Pembroke College and Year 10 students visiting St Catharine’s College, where Jack Williams is now an undergraduate. Despite the cold conditions, the group left snowy Dover and travelled by coach to Cambridge.
