Chilton Foliat Primary school is nestled into a thriving village community on the borders of Wiltshire and West Berkshire. The original village school was started in 1770 by Roger Spanswick and his wife Elizabeth for 16 poor children of the parish. The National school in Chilton Foliat was opened in 1835 on the north side of the High Street, and a new building for it was erected in 1847. The number on roll by 1871 was 87. In 1970 our present school was built in Stag Hill and the old one closed. The number on roll continues to rise with 96 pupils enrolled in January 2011. Parents are a vital part of our school team. Their varied expertise is readily accepted by the teaching staff to help with reading, art and craft activities, sewing or anything else that the school feels will enrich the children’s learning.

The basic curriculum is enhanced by workshops in Science, Design Technology, Music, History, Dance, Drama and Sport as well as a comprehensive range of educational visits designed to inspire and support learning across all subject areas. Year 6 children spent a week at an outdoor pursuits centre in Devon. We have greatly increased the provision of after school clubs and run a full programme which includes a range of sports, drama, science, dance, gymnastics. There are also some lunchtime activities. We respond to feedback from parents and pupils in determining the variety and range activities.

The children had discussions in their classrooms about what these words meant to them in school. Each class developed lists of what they thought were the most important rights and responsibilities for them. The school council spent quite a lot of time discussing them all and coming up with 10 Rights and 10 Responsibilities for the whole school. They then delivered an assembly to present them to the rest of the school. We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.

Crest Co-operative was established in 1998. The company evolved from a project run by Scope. This project was established with one of the very first lottery grants and the aim of the project was to establish a community co-operative to help disabled and unemployed people increase their skills and gain employment – either within the co-operative or to move on to sustainable employment within the community. The project ran for 3 years and at the end of the project the co-operative became a not for profit limited company. A further lottery application was granted for the co-operative to develop vocational training courses to help disadvantaged people who had become socially excluded to gain life skills as well as real work experience in a supportive environment. The co-operative established two community businesses within which the training could be delivered.

Cromer High School is a mixed 11 - 16 foundation school with 517 students on roll and has been a sports college since September 2010. The school day consists of five sixty minute lessons, starting at 08.20am. There is a 15 minute break at 10.20am and a 35 minute lunch break at 12.35pm. Crossroads Care in Mid Yorkshire is a specialist voluntary organisation providing respite care to carers and people with care needs. We work in the community across all Kirklees Leeds and Wakefield. We work with any age group and with many, many types of illness or disability.
Cusgarne School is in the centre of the small rural village of Cusgarne surrounded by farmland. We are situated about 6 miles from Truro and 5 miles from Redruth, Cornwall. It is a beautiful setting in which to begin your schooling. Look out of the windows at the back of the school and you can see cows grazing! We have children from the ages of 4 to 11 at our school and we have high expectations for everyone and ensure that each child is valued. We recognise and celebrate achievement regardless of ability.
