We specialise in designing miniature knitting patterns and miniature crochet patterns for dollhouse dolls and dolls houses (these are marketed under the name Farthing Patterns). We also offer a pattern design service for miniature knitting and miniature crochet in both 1/12th scale and 1/24th scale. The Knitting Box was established over 30 years ago by June Frary the present proprietors mother and has moved over the years from Butts Road to King Street and on June's retirement daughters Lesley & Diane relocated to the High Street where the shop is a key part of Barton's shopping area.
Established in 1984 by three work colleagues Esther, Joan and Elsie, and this was the origin of the name We Three. In 2008 I took over the business from these ladies but still call the shop We Three - The Wool Shop. I have expanded the shop now by taking over an office which was located next door which contains the haberdashery items and ribbons and trimmings. The knitting yarns, patterns and needles are in the main shop along with all the little interesting things like shawl pins and sheep tape measures. We also have ribbons and roses to add to your craft items. we now have cinderella and winnie the pooh ribbons as well as plain satin, wired and even football ribbon.

The Needle Company Ltd was born in 1998 when it changed its name from the Hosiery Machine Needle Co Ltd to reflect more accurately the day-to-day business of the company. The original roots go back to 1915 when this company was set up to manufacture needles for knitting machines, which produced the much-needed fabrics for clothing during the First World War.
