Located at 4 Kensington Court, in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Embassy building is a part of the rich London architectural heritage. It was designed and built in the late nineteenth century. The outstanding British architect J J Stevenson (1831-1908) designed the building in "Queen Anne" style. J J Stevenson is known for the design and construction of a new building of Christ College in Cambridge and the University Chemical Laboratory. His works also include repairs to St John's College and Oriel College at Oxford. 4 Kensington Court had been used by its successive owners for residential purposes before it was acquired by the Government of Azerbaijan in 1995 to be used as Chancery Office for the country's first Embassy in the United Kingdom
