This means it should be disposed of carefully, and not thrown out with general household waste. At WHSmith, we are helping to upgrade local Civic Amenity sites across the UK where you can take your old electrical items for a safe, free-of-charge disposal. We cannot dispose of your old products in-store.

Travel’s typical customer has less time to browse than the High Street customer and is more interested in reading materials for a journey as well as purchasing food, drink and confectionery. Due to their location and convenience nature, Travel stores are, on average, significantly smaller than those in the High Street portfolio. At 31 August 2010, Travel operated from a total of 0.4m square feet of selling space, with units ranging in size from 90 square feet to more than 6, 000 square feet. Of the 516 Travel units, 136 are in airports, 117 in railway stations, 119 in motorway service areas (most of which are franchise units), 103 in hospitals and 24 in locations such as bus stations and workplaces. Seventeen units are in non-UK locations: France, Republic of Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, India and Oman.

We only use 100% beef with nothing added, just a pinch of salt and pepper when cooking. We use nothing but quality beef, always whole cuts of forequarter and flank from British and Irish cattle. Our bottled milk for drinking and for our teas and coffees is all organic. All our eggs are free range, including all the egg we use in our marinades and sauces. We source quality ingredients from over 17, 000 British and Irish farmers. In 2009 this included all our beef, free range eggs, pork, organic milk and much of our salad, apples and carrots when in season. We have been providing nutritional information about our food since 1984. In 2003, we became the first company in our sector to embark on a project of extensive recipe reformulation focusing primarily on salt reduction. Over the past six years, through technological innovations and the reformulation of many of our core menu items, we have dramatically reduced salt content across our menu.
