The Police Treatment Centre charity provides intensive treatment to thousands of injured and ill police officers every year. The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity supported by voluntary donations from serving police officers primarily in the northern forces of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but also from British Transport Police, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and the Ministry of Defence Police. Each year almost 4000 officers attend the Centres for treatment. The majority do so to receive intensive physiotherapy while the remainder attend for a variety of reasons such as: to recover from an operation; to seek assistance for stress, anxiety and other such conditions; and for respite. Treatment is provided on both an inpatient and outpatient basis and each patient receives an individually tailored programme of treatment which is delivered in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The NPIA Specialist Operations Centre (SOC) provides a 'single point of contact' for police forces and key partners requesting information, advice or support in relation to covert techniques, major crime, witness intermediaries, critical incidents and uniform operations.
