Ellern Mede provides a specialist treatment service for young people (children and adolescents) suffering from eating disorders such as, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other disorders involving eating difficulties for example pervasive refusal syndrome (PRS), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS, “ME”, “post viral fatigue syndrome”), conversion disorder and depression. The service offers a Milieu programme, a Rapid Response programme and a High Dependency programme. These are three different in-patient treatment programmes that each includes individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and other therapies such as Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). There is also a school on site (Ellern Mede School). We provide a training programme for professionals and we have a comprehensive research programme which includes a project to develop CRT (Cognitive Remediation Therapy), a new therapy for the treatment of eating disorders.
