I am Dr. Mel Pence. I have been working as a veterinary practitioner for over 35 years. I began my career in rural mixed animal practice and after 25 years I went back to Iowa State to obtain my masters in veterinary medicine. I then spent 10 years at the University of Georgia teaching clinical practice and doing clinically related research, retiring as a professor prior to coming to the valley. I now enjoy the challenges of an active surgical practice, working with our clients and their various pets. I have been married for 43 years to a wonderfully lady; Pam. We have one daughter, a son-in-law and grandson here in the valley. We also have two young dogs, one a mixed rescue and one Schnauzer.
