The emphasis at Yellow Butterfly is on quality from the taste and texture of the cake to the detail of the icing and decoration. Whatever style of decoration is chosen it is hand crafted in sugar by Yvonne to a high standard. All design and decoration work is done by Yvonne O’Neill who has been making and decorating cakes for over 20 years. Yvonne holds a City & Guilds in Sugarcraft and Design and has several qualifications relating to Decorative Sugar Flower Designs.

Yvonne first became interested in cake baking and decoration many years ago whilst watching her auntie never thinking that one day she would be doing the same type of work as a career. Over the course of the last year Yvonne has been asked on more than one occasion to take on an instructional role within the Sugarcraft Guild. Due to Yvonne’s reputation growing within the Sugarcraft community she was featured in the Cambridgeshire Evening News monthly magazine.

As the business has grown so have the demands on Yvonne’s time and she has passed the cake baking part of the business over to her husband and business partner Chris. One thing we are certain of is that when a customer orders a cake, for whatever occasion, the cake will be unique as each one is made to order from start to finish and you will want to keep your life like sugar decorations forever. The story for providing and making cakes does not end with your Wedding Cake we also make cakes for all occasions including Christening, Anniversary, Corporate, Birthdays and a range of tops for cakes either handcrafted in sugar or marzipan models.
