We are the Tremaine family, and we have been at the Welbeck Hotel for over twenty years.

The Welbeck Hotel is a few minutes from the Cliffs Pavilion, Palace Theatre and local amenities at Hamlet Court Road, whilst a pleasant 15-20 minute stroll East along the cliffs or seafront promenade brings you to Southend's shopping precinct, where you will find many major department stores and shops, and the same distance to the West will bring you to the Old Fishing Village of Leigh On Sea. Overseas visitors are especially welcome and although French and German are not spoken fluently, our sign language is superb! There is plenty to see and do in Southend. Southend boasts miles of award-winning beaches providing many opportunities for water sports and interesting places to visit, such as the olde-world charm of Leigh on Sea with cockle sheds and the longest pleasure pier in the world. Families with young children are well catered for with amusement parks like Adventure Island on the seafront near the pier. There are also traditional amusement arcades and bingo on the seafront. The famous Kursaal is also worth a visit and has a 10-pin bowling complex. Shopping in Southend is a pleasure. As the largest town in Essex it is well served by all major high street retailers, a wealth of interesting boutiques and craft stores with the surrounding shopping centres of Leigh and Westcliff offering an alternative to busy Southend. Southend has many first class restaurants where you can sample fine cuisine from all corners of the globe. Add to this the variety of wine bars, traditional pubs, night spots, cafes and casinos and you will not be short of choices in the evenings. The parks and gardens of the towns are a joy to behold. The spectacular cliff gardens, with views over the Thames Estuary and Kent, are a particular highlight. Priory Park is another of several parks that enable the town to regularly win "Britain in Bloom" awards. There are also wildlife conservation areas to enjoy.
