VENTRESS HALL

Ventress Hall had a wonderful ambiance; friendly, warm, and relaxed. My concerns were melting away, I felt safe and comfortable. As I was accompanied into one of the many open lounges I paused to listen to the family of staff and residents laughing and chatting. It was then that I realised that Ventress Hall was so much more than a Home that could fulfil my increasing needs; it was a place where I could live my life to the full. I was excited; this will make a truly exceptional home Our Home is easily reached from the A1 and the A66 by car. Darlington train station is a short distance away and there is a regular bus service from the town centre that stops close by.

Ventress Hall was purpose built in 1989 and is registered to accommodate 35 nursing residents and 10 residential residents. We offer Residential and Nursing care as well as Respite care to give home carers a much needed break. We also provide End of Life care at a time when Residents and their families need specialist help and support. Many of our private bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are decorated to a high standard. Some of the ground floor rooms have direct access to the courtyard gardens. We are very proud of our homely and welcoming atmosphere. We would be delighted to show you around so that you can experience it for yourself. Our Residents can pursue their hobbies in a number of communal and quiet lounges provided throughout the Home. We also have a large and bright conservatory and a hair salon where Residents can enjoy some pampering. There are two large courtyard gardens with mature trees and rose beds, as well as patio seating areas and a gazebo which is popular in the summer. These areas are used for relaxing, socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit. Our activities programme is tailored to our Residents’ preferences and we have a full and varied activities calendar with events planned throughout the year. We invite professional entertainers to visit regularly and there is always something going on from quizzes to musical events. Mealtimes are an enjoyable and sociable part of the day. Each one of our dining areas has tables laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day. We have highly nutritious and varied menus and cater for all dietary and cultural needs. All of our food is prepared using fresh ingredients every day in our kitchens.
