THE PERSE SCHOOL

Short profile:

The Development Office aims to support the continuing development of The Perse through fundraising and by promoting the school’s achievements and aspirations as a centre of educational excellence, open to all. Funding the development of The Perse is essential to its continuing success. The school has no permanent endowment and seeks to avoid placing the entire burden for future progress on school fees alone. Hence there are three major channels through which funds are raised: the annual fund, legacies, major campaings. The Annual Fund supports three vital areas of school life: Pupils, Buildings and Learning. Each year, we invite members of the Perse community to make a donation to the Fund to help the school achieve its full potential. Donors can assist all three areas, or direct their gift to one specific project.

Detailed description:

The Perse School Development Office was set up in 2000. Its aim is to generate support for the continuing development of the Perse by promoting its achievements and aspirations as a centre of educational excellence open to all. Funding the development of the Perse is essential to its continuing success. The School has minimal endowment funds and seeks to avoid placing the entire burden for future progress on school fees alone. Hence the Development Office looks to raise funds through: Annual Fund – to develop a closer relationship between the Perse and our alumni, parents and friends, through the medium of regular giving to projects that will be realised within a year; Major campaigns – to generate significant funding to support major developments for capital projects and bursary funding; Legacies – to establish an expendable endowment to support the long-term funding of bursaries at the Perse. To achieve these fundraising goals the Development Office has a key role in engaging with and informing all those with links to the Perse of the School's aspirations and progress, through the organisation of events and the production of publications.
