We are a large Practice in Guildford, Surrey with three surgeries and a medical centre, located in the University of Surrey campus. Our aim is to provide a high standard of health care to patients with courtesy, friendliness and efficiency. We have a common telephone number for all surgeries and a Practice-wide appointment system to help us find the most convenient appointment for you. Generally each site functions independently with a similar range of services to provide you with a personal service. Some enhanced services and facilities may only be available at specific sites.
Antenatal clinics are led by community midwives. Pregnant women are asked to book antenatal care at around the tenth week of pregnancy. The first ultrasound is at 12 - 13 weeks and the second at 20 weeks. Your doctor would like to see you for review at least once during your pregnancy. Otherwise, antenatal care is monthly until 28 weeks, fortnightly until 36 weeks and then weekly until delivery. Children's health clinics are held regularly at The Oaks, Stoughton Road and Wodeland Avenue surgeries. The health visitor will weigh and examine babies and give advice; doctors will undertake development checks and advise on any concerns over progress and behaviour.
These clinics are also intended for childhood immunisations. Please check at your local surgery for specific times and dates for vaccinations, or on the vaccination tab above. We do not encourage children or babies who are unwell to attend these clinics for fear of spreading infection. A doctor, nurse and podiatrist team run diabetic clinics for patients, where we offer full diabetic care. You may be referred to one of these clinics rather than the hospital for diabetic care. Contraceptive and pre-conceptual advice and care is provided by all the doctors at all sites during surgery hours.
All doctors are happy to perform smears, postnatal checks and discuss women's health issues. Several doctors carry out minor surgical procedures at each surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this. Flu and pneumococcal vaccinations are recommended for all patients over 65 and patients of any age with heart, lung, kidney or diabetic problems. Residents of nursing and residential homes are all advised to be vaccinated. The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, for example, for insurance and driving licence. Please telephone the Practice for an appointment and ask for details of our charges.
