THE GALLERY ON THE STAIRS

The Gallery On The Stairs is a small art gallery featuring over 100 paintings and prints by internationally collected artist Claire Reika Wright. A wide variety of styles are on show from abstracts and expressionist to surreal figurative paintings in acrylics and mixed media. The Gallery On The Stairs is also the home of 'Abstract Worlds', a New Media interactive concept which allows the viewer to travel around and through a painting in 3D space.

Claire Reika Wright has been painting professionally since 1993 and has built up a considerable reputation locally and internationally as a painter with an unusual style, vivid imagination and an ability to use colour in strikingly different ways. The Gallery On The Stairs is an extension of her studio and is housed on a lovely Victorian stairwell. Not only are there hundreds of works to view but there is always a chance of seeing the artist at work or talking directly to her about her unique painting methods. Digital art has become established as a bona fide art form and Claire Reika Wright has taken the media a stage further by using 3D imaging and gaming techniques to produce a stunning series of interactive paintings that can be viewed on a HD large screen. This is an entirely new concept and is not, at present, available elsewhere. The Gallery On The Stairs allows visitors to buy direct from the artist. Paintings can be purchased on a 'try before you buy' basis and a special extended, no interest payment scheme is available. The range of work shown includes local landscapes, prints of contemporary illustrations of the plays of William Shakespeare, paintings and prints based on the songs of the sixties and seventies including The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Flower paintings, abstract mixed media paintings, The Vividz series of surreal paintings and pastels and a set of prints of the signs of the zodiac.
