The school is a dynamic co-ed school with about 1290 pupils. It has a long history dating back to 1536 with its roots in Bow, in the East End of London. It moved to its present site in Upminster in 1971. The school continues to enjoy the support of its Parent Livery Company, the Worshipful Company of Coopers, through the CCCS Educ. Fdn. "It is an exceptional school of real excellence" OFSTED (2003)
