The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum that includes a range of other activities including at least 2 hours of sport and PE each week. We hold Sport England’s Activemark in recognition of our commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity and school sports.
Detailed description:
To support our broad and balanced curriculum, pupils have the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities.
We have developed partnerships with external agencies and coaches to provide further opportunities these include; football, netball, basketball, karate, tennis, hockey and cycling proficiency. A peripatetic music teacher also teaches children to play the violin.
An annual residential visit is offered to Year 5/6 children and many other visits are organised in and out of school hours to support and complement the curriculum.
We have also enjoyed themed days such as European Day of Languages, World Book Day, The Big Stand, Children in Need, Uganda Day and ACES Day.
Throughout the year children have the opportunity to participate in a range of performances, assemblies and concerts.
Through the 'Wider Opportunities Programme' some children are learning to play musical instruments.
