STAPLEFORD COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL

We have a wide range of extra-curricular clubs. They cover several sports at different times during the year (eg. football, netball, rugby, tennis, basketball), creative arts (eg. drama, choir, recorders) and special interets groups for gardening, chess and lego. In addition, the school hosts community activities, such as gym club, music clubs and Brownies. We also have an after school club which meets on our site. We are proud of the large number of different educational visits that we provide for our children, for example, trips to Kentwell Hall, Wimpole Hall, Upware Field Study Centre, Cambridge Folk Museum, Headingham Castle and a Butterfly Farm. A residential visit is also made to the Isle of Wight for our Year 6 children. We have frequent history days focussing on the children's topics, for instance, the seaside in the past and the Romans. We welcome visitors to our school to enrich the curriculum, including postgraduate Science students, African dancers and singers and representatives from the community. In addition, we hold events such as Science week in which children participate in a number of science activities to enrich their understanding of science.
