Opening hours: 11am-3pm Mon-Sat. With over 150 years of international experience, our overseas work today is a highly strategic, proactive programme in Europe, East Asia and southern Africa, for the benefit of animals and people in society, agriculture, industry and the environment. This includes: working with local partners on a wide range of animal welfare projects from stray dog management to developing animal welfare education in the national curriculum; delivering customised training courses ranging from alternatives to laboratory animals in education through to farm animal welfare for veterinary professionals; responding to a variety of emergency situations such as oil spills in South Africa and Belgium, and the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. We recognise that we live in a changing world in which issues such as food quality and safety, public health, sustainable agriculture and the environment, increasingly and inextricably link animal welfare and human welfare.
