Awful Service
chr15athomeTook car into Evans Halshaw at 8am this morning. Told them exactly what the problem was and they said we'll look at it straight away. Didn't hear anything so rang up at 11am to see how things were going, they were only just putting the car on the ramp??? I left it a bit longer and they rang me at about 12.30 to say that one of the handbrake cables had broken and both needed replacing and the handbrake mounting needed replacing at £140. I was happy with that so gave them the go ahead. Called them back at 2.10pm to see how it was going and no-one available so left my details. They called back at 2.30pm saying yes sir your car is now finished and ready to collect. Got a taxi to collect the car and the service guy said its not ready yet, trying to make out that no-one had rung me to say it was. Then after all that he came back and claimed the reason it wasn't ready was because that the part I pointed him toward replacing at 8am in the morning wasn't in stock. Nearly A whole day wasted, by the time I got home at 4.30pm still with no handbrake. Centre console is loose, screws missing, gaitor not put back correctly and didn't even re-attach the hand brake cable. Needless to say I didn't pay the £50 brake check they tried charging me. He said I could bring it back on the next available saturday 3 weeks away. All I can say is if your planning on taking your car to Evans Halshaw in Hunslet, Leeds don't bother you'd have better luck taking the car apart yourself.3/10/2010 5:25:24 PM
