Short profile:

The Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales is the professional Association that represents the senior police officers in the 43 Home Office Police Forces, British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Isle of Man Police in the rank of Superintendent and Chief Superintendent. They include those officers seconded to national policing organisations. Our members are the senior operational commanders and managers delivering local policing, specialist investigations and operations and support services within police forces. They are engaged at the strategic level working with the tripartite partners of the Association of Chief Police Officers, Police Authorities, and the Home Office together with HMIC and NPIA.

Detailed description:

The PSAEW will provide superintendents in England and Wales with a national voice and leadership, support in adversity, and advice regarding conditions of service. We will harness and develop the skills, talents and opportunities of our membership, assisting them to maximise their full potential as leaders of the Police Service. We will strive to enable our members to contribute their knowledge and expertise to developing a police service that protects and serves our communities. We will provide a clear and authoritative voice of the Police Service.
