Studies have shown that children who eat a healthy breakfast concentrate and perform better at school. Recognising this we have a Breakfast Club at Petts Hill. Our Breakfast club is open for business from 8.00am daily in the hall and so is ideal for those parents and carers who have early morning starts. It also offers a safe and familiar childcare option. Breakfast Club provides a varied and healthy menu. Typical offerings include: starchy foods for energy such as cereals and toast; fruit juice (helping to meet the recommended 'five a day' portions of fruit and vegetables); low-fat yoghurts and also hot choices such as baked beans on toast, cheese on toast and scrambled eggs. In the winter months delicious porridge is served. Breakfast Club costs just £1.00 per session and there are 16 places available daily.
Places must be booked in advance at the School Office. Our ICT Suite and Library is open every day after school until 4.00pm. All children are welcome but we ask that children in KS1 are accompanied by an adult. Parents and carers of children in KS2 are also welcome to attend as we offer high speed Internet access as well as word processing and other computing facilities. There are 20 places available daily and children complete booking forms which they bring home from school. A professional Street Dance Teacher leads a fun and energetic session in the hall on Thursday's after school from 3.25pm until 4.25pm. Booking takes place termly for 10 sessions and costs £20 per child.
Ealing School's Music Service offers keyboard lessons to children in very small groups. The cost per term is £20. If you are interested in your child having keyboard lessons please contact the school office. Two children from each class (Year 1 upwards) represent their class at School Council. Class representatives are voted for at the beginning of each new academic year. School Council meets regularly to discuss wide ranging issues.
