Pembroke Comprehensive School
Description Pembroke Comprehensive School
Pembroke School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school of 1490 pupils on roll in a rural area at the far south west of Wales. The school was formed in 1972 as a result of the amalgamation of the former grammar and secondary modern schools. It is housed on one site and its setting is undoubtedly unique in Wales. All the school buildings are contained within the boundaries of a former private estate of nearly 100 acres with views over the lawn to Pembroke Castle.
The school has many excellent facilities including a new purpose-built suite of science laboratories. There is a very fine sports complex on the campus consisting of two swimming pools, a large sports hall, two squash courts and a fitness room. In recent years the school has been able to build up a substantial range of computer equipment, not only in a specialist suite of rooms but also in support of the various departments across the school. This equipment includes the use of communication modules, satellite technology and networked internet access.
