Our beloved Dog
more than 6 months ago
We took our dog of 13+ yrs to be put to sleep. As you can imagine we were both very upset. All your staff were so kind so caring and very sympathetic. As Barney our dog was a huge black Lab and we wanted to take him home to bury him as we are both disabled they put him on a stretcher and took him to the car. Bless them all. We have a large amount of clothing and dog items including a very large Dog Bed and i am going to contact your Charity shop and no it has all gone to such a good cause.Thankyou.
I took Owain (pdsa spelt his name wrong!!) to the emergency Saturday evening. myself and my Daughter was told by a young blonde haired vet that Owain was HEALTHY, he had FLU. was given penicillin tablets and eye cream. told not let him have anything eat for 24 hours. start tablets sunday evening. sadly Owain deteriated, Monday evening I phoned emergency , was told a vet would phone me? no one phoned. so phoned again. one hour later the Normacot vet phoned. I took Owain to the Normacot vet, who said Owain had been POISENED. bit of difference from FLU! kidneys failing.he was put on a drip, had blood tests. I left him over night. had to fetch him early next morning, take him to pdsa. which I find distressing. moving a poorly sick pet from a to b. that vet told me it did not look good. more blood tests. he was jaundice, one hour I was at the pdsa. signed the , put a pet down form. when I got home I got phone call to ask for permission to put Owain down. I did not want him to suffer. I phoned pdsa today to complain about the young vet who told me he had the flu. I was told a senior vet will phone me back? I had NO return phone call. the local paper phoned me last night.
i am registard with the pdsa and they are absalutly brilliant at what they do to save our petms lives they are a respectable pet careing vet and i cannot fault them one bit, they saved my friends cat who was hit by a van and left for dead we were all very upset of the prospect of looseing the cat billy but he lost an entire leg and shoulder and he had to have his jar wired but he made it and he runs around like mad, so i think that the pdsa realy do deserve all the respect and help they deserve in my eyes, from julie mitchell stoke-on-trent
