Dreadful store. The following happened to me: I am a self-employed person who relies on a PC for my work. Yesterday morning, on the instruction of my technical support guy, I rang various suppliers to check availability and reserve the following item: one 250gb internal (3.5 inch) IDE hard drive for a PC. PC World assured me they had some in stock, I was very clear with the person I spoke to, stating over and over that it had to be an IDE drove. I was assured there were two in stock at Slough, and that they were IDE drives, and one was reserved for me. I took 1 1/2 hours out of my day to get to the store (which cost me £60 in lost revenue), bought the part, and got it home. When my IT guy arrived later to fit it he confirmed that I had been mis-sold, and that this was a SATA drive, which is not the same. Therefore he had a fruitless visit to my house, which will cost me money to pay for. I have now spoken to customer services who have told me that I have to get back to the store for a refund. This is not now possible. Given that I have now paid you £45 for a part that was mis-sold to me and is not fit for purpose, lost £60 in revenue, have to pay for an IT call out that was pointless, and wasted 1.5 hours of my own time, I would like PC World's response about what you are aiming to do to resolve this. My simple request is that a courier collects this part and you refund me asap. Got called the next day by XCustomer Non Service, who listened to what I said, then repeated back things i had not said. I had to stop the guy 3 times to point out that he had just misrepresneted what I'd said. He asaid I was not entitled to have it picke dup as I had 'bought the wrong part'. How exactly was I to know that?? I then replied to his email backto me saying I would like atranscript of my original phone call. No response - that was 3 days ago. I will now be pursuing ths through Trading Standards and the Guardian newspaper.7/1/2010 11:46:33 AM
